Hi, I’m Marianne, owner of
Fluerette Bridal Alterations
From a young age, sewing has been a passion of mine. My earliest memories of sewing were with my mom, who made beautiful custom dresses for my sisters and me as we grew up. When I was 10, she taught me the art of dress-making, a skill I’ve carried throughout my life. I continued to perfect my sewing skills by making custom garments throughout my adolescence and college years.
After college, I met the love of my life and it was time to plan my wedding! For as long as I could remember, I wished to wear my mom’s wedding dress which had been custom-made for her by a seamstress in Philadelphia. For me, wearing this family heirloom was a special dream of mine, so I found a seamstress who helped make my dream a reality. It was truly a magical experience to be able to wear my mother’s dress, which my own daughter wore this past May when she got married! My bridal seamstress gifted me not only the perfect wedding dress, but a new found passion for bridal alterations. Seeing her transform my mother’s dress into my own was an incredible experience which I knew I wanted to be able to give to others one day.
“Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.
